As part of the Goethe-Découverte platform, the Goethe-Institut Kamerun presents the exhibition « Dépigmentation» by Manuella Sali Maïfeo Dague
Opening: Thursday 4th December 2025,6 pm

Manuella Sali Maïfeo Dague is a Cameroonian creative artist drawn to diverse artistic forms of expression that convey emotions and ideas in unique and powerful ways.
As a photo model, Manuella developed a deep sensitivity to photography and the visual arts, exploring several projects on themes such as health, diversity, and the human condition.
The Goethe-Découverte 2025 laureate in the Visual Arts category, she strives to create works that inspire, move, and provoke reflection. She believes that art has the power to drive change, shift mindsets, and promote diversity and inclusion—encouraging people to embrace and celebrate differences.
Through her project, Manuella Sali hopes to raise awareness about skin depigmentation and its consequences, while inspiring individuals to take steps toward self-acceptance and embracing their true selves.

Depigmentation is a photographic and artistic project that explores themes of identity, diversity, and the human condition. Through a series of photographs, the artist aims to raise public awareness about skin depigmentation and its emotional, physical, and psychological consequences.

Initiated in 2015 by the Goethe-Institut Kamerun, Goethe-Découverte is a platform for promoting young Cameroonian artistic talent in several disciplines (comics, music, visual arts, theatre, dance, performance). The winners are selected by a jury of professionals following a competition and receive support in preparing and producing their creative project. This year, the Goethe-Découverte platform is celebrating its 10th anniversary!
