In “Que d’être une femme”, the author relates the stories of Lekunze, Chimène and Murielle. Their lives, marked by suffering and rejection, yet also by hope and perseverance, reveal, day by day, the daily trials faced by women in a society where simply being a woman is already a burden and a shackle from the very dawn of life. Inspired by his own experiences with a single woman, the author reveals the harshness of their plight while celebrating their courage. To him, women thus appear as resilient, indomitable beings, capable of rising from the ashes like a phoenix, and embodying mystery and power, much like the Sphinx.
