As part of the Goethe-Découverte platform, the Goethe-Institut Kamerun presents the concert of « Les Rêves d’Amady» by Amady.

Amady, whose real name is Amba Belinga Michèle, is a Cameroonian balafon player, singer, and composer. Her artistry is inspired by her personal story, her roots, and the balafon, her instrument of choice. At the age of six, Michèle began training under the guidance of Ulrich Essomba, where she developed strong technical skills and deep artistic mastery of the balafon.

The winner of the Goethe‑Découverte 2026 award in the Music-sound category, she has performed at several festivals including DOMAF, the Balafon Music Awards, Miss Cameroon, and Nja’nja M’ndzang. She has also received multiple honors, notably Best Female Balafonist and Best Young Balafonist.

The Goethe‑Découverte 2026 laureate in the Music‑Sound category presents Les Rêves d’Amady, a concert that places the balafon at the center of her musical narrative.
The concert explores memory, thought, emotion, and contemporary expression, while showcasing the balafon as a heritage instrument played by a young artist deeply rooted in tradition. Through her musical journey, Amady seeks to inspire the audience on a path of self‑discovery.
