Ayélam, kidnapped during a raid and taken as Mangmut’s wife, gives birth to a mysterious child. Isii, a powerful priestess, sees this birth as a threat.
Caught between rigid rituals and acts of defiance, Ayélam faces the judgement of others and the pain of rejection. In her struggle to take control of her destiny, she will leave her village behind. This journey, punctuated by sacrifices, will lead her into the heart of a wider world where she will make unexpected discoveries and encounters. In poetic and immersive language, Mii MOUALAL, inspired by oral traditions and African spiritualities, explores the hidden layers of history.
