Alumni Denkfabrik

For several years, the Goethe-Institut and the Center for Scientific Cooperation between Africa and Germany (DAW), as part of one of their key programmes, have been offering alumni from Germany the opportunity to convene and discuss issues of specific or general interest. This has enabled the alumni to contribute in examining and resolving their specific challenges, as well as those faced by the national and international community at different levels and within different sectors. This year, in a twoday, seminar-style event coordinated by Prof David Simo, some 20 researchers, lecturers, and experts from various fields will examine the theme, “Returning Works of Art and Other Items Taken from Africa during Colonisation: Opportunities and Feasibility”, from different perspectives. This discussion will help to identify analysis models and recommendable avenues to be explored for solutions in the light of this unsettling issue, which is of concern at the national, as well as international level.
