What are the technical requirements for the course?

Students interested in higher level courses, who have not yet learned German at the Goethe-Institut or took courses at one of our locations more than 6 months ago will be individually placed with the help of our complimentary placement test.

Wie ist der Kurs aufgebaut?

Kursaufbau Der Kurs kombiniert verschiedene Lehrformen: Selbständige Arbeit im Lernprogramm (virtuelles Lehrwerk); umfasst Inhalte der jeweiligen Niveaustufe, gibt automatisches Feedback. Asynchrone Gruppenaufgaben auf der Lernplattform des Goethe-Instituts; Aufgaben vertiefen bestimmte landeskundliche Themen, die Kursteilnehmer bearbeiten die Aufgaben in Gruppen, müssen allerdings nicht gleichzeitig online sein. Tutoren beobachten die Arbeit im Lernprogramm, geben zusätzlich zum Lernprogramm regelmäßiges Feedback und können zusätzliche Übungsmaterialien einstellen. Einsendeaufgaben : Jede Woche soll ein kurzer Text selbständig verfasst werden, der vom Tutor korrigiert wird. Man lernt so von Anfang an, E-Mails oder andere kurze schriftliche Mitteilungen zu verfassen. Die vorgeschlagenen Themen bauen auf den Themen des Lernprogramms und der Präsenztreffen auf. Die vom Tutor korrigierten Texte sind ein persönliches Feedback zum Lernfortschritt, reich an Ratschlägen und Erklärungen. Synchrone Präsenztreffen in Zoom, während denen die Inhalte der unterschiedlichen Aufgaben vertieft werden. Sie sind eine ideale Gelegenheit, um die Sprache ab der ersten Woche in der mündlichen Kommunikation zwischen den Kursteilnehmern und den Tutoren anzuwenden. Es sind insgesamt vierzehn Treffen die gleichzeitige Anwesenheit der Teilnehmer verlangen. Der Kurs beginnt mit einer virtuellen Einführungsveranstaltung, in der Sie alle notwendigen Informationen zum Kurs erhalten, sowie das Lernprogramm und die Lernplattform kennenlernen. In den folgenden Treffen werden der mündliche Ausdruck in kurzen Dialogen geübt, die wichtigsten grammatikalischen Strukturen untersucht und landeskundliche Themen angesprochen.

Will I get a certificate at the end of my class?

All students who attend at least 70% of their classes, and (for courses with an online component) complete at least 70% of their assignments will receive a certificate of participation for their course. Also, we prepare and encourage you to sign up for one of our official Goethe-Zertifikat exams, which will provide you with an internationally-recognised certificate to prove your language abilities. Course participants will be able to take an exam for a discounted rate.
