We promote cultural exchange, education and social discourse

We foster bilateral cultural exchange programs between Germany and Ethiopia. We initiate film series, exhibitions, concerts, seminars and festivals, always with the goal to facilitate artistic production, reception and reflection involving actors from both countries.

Our activities

  • Goethe MobiArts

    The Goethe MobiArts program, initiated by the Goethe-Institut, enables artists from Sub-Saharan Africa to travel across the continent using the Goethe-Institut network, there by engaging in exchange with local artistic scenes.The program supports performing artists in the fields of storytelling, dance, music, slam poetry, and theatre. 

  • Brecht in Ethiopia

    Bertolt Brecht (stage name since July 1916; also Bert Brecht), born Eugen Berthold Friedrich Brecht (10 February 1898 in Augsburg – 14 August 1956 in East Berlin), was an influential German playwright, librettist and poet of the 20th century.

  • Stations of Culture - Stations of Dialogue

    EUNIC Ethiopia’s “Stations of Culture” brings art-driven dialogue to sites along the Ethio-Djibouti railway and in Central and Northern Ethiopia. In April and May 2025, nine artist groups present showcase public works across film, murals, music, fashion, and more in Dire Dawa, Addis Ababa, Debre Birhan, and Mekelle
