ANTIFASCISM: NOW.
Jointly supported by the Goethe-Institut and the municipal art space Lothringer 13 Halle, the project is deliberately ambitious in scope: over the course of more than three years, spanning 14 locations across 12 countries, it aims to build a transnational network. Its focus is on Eastern and Southeastern Europe, regions where the fragility of democratic structures is particularly evident as authoritarian tendencies, historical revisionism, and rising nationalism shape everyday life.
ANTIFASCISM: NOW. is not a conventional touring exhibition presenting the same content at each venue. Instead, at every stop, the project is developed anew, incorporating local voices, discourses, and artistic perspectives.
UPCOMING STOPS
The exhibition at Lothringer 13 Halle runs through the end of July 2026 and is accompanied by an extensive programme featuring panel discussions, workshops, and performances. In October 2026, the project will travel to Prishtina for its first presentation outside Germany, in partnership with the NGO Reporting House. Further chapters will follow in 2027 in Zagreb (Museum of Contemporary Art), Belgrade (Center for Cultural Decontamination), Athens (Athens Epidaurus Festival), and Sarajevo (History Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina). Additional venues are currently being planned. The project will culminate in 2029 in a final exhibition at the Ludwig Forum Aachen, bringing together all its chapters.
