創立於1975年的德文攝影書大獎由一批極具份量的獨立評審選出德語區內的優秀攝影書籍。在評審的過程中，「獨特」與「優異」是一眾評審尋找的品質，評審重視書本作者、攝影師、編輯以及製作人在創作書本時所獻出的努力與心思。

2022年開始，INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF PHOTOGRAPHIC IMAGES 成為大獎的官方主辦機構。香港歌德學院很榮幸與之合作，再次將過百本入圍及得獎書籍帶到香港展出。
