Almost like family, but always temporary: in a house beside an idyllic lake, three youth workers do everything they can to create a home for the children in their residential care. Between parental love, bureaucracy, and youth welfare services, they cook, comfort, read bedtime stories — and fight an often overwhelmed system on the children's behalf. Shift after shift, they offer what these kids need most: safety and someone on their side. A film about the superpower of raising a child, and family in all its forms.
