To celebrate International Translation Day, we warmly invite everyone involved in German–Japanese translation to our library on Thursday, October 9 at 7:00 PM — whether you're a professional, part-time translator, or just starting out.
The evening will begin with a short online talk from the German publishing world. Jakob Jürgen Becker, Deputy Director of the Literary Colloquium Berlin, will join us online from Germany to share insights on how to stay informed about new releases, current trends in the book market, and where to discover exciting publications.
The heart of the evening, however, is all about exchange: we want to create a space to meet fellow translators, share experiences, make new connections, or simply have a good conversation.

Date: Thursday, October 9, 2025
Venue: Library of the Goethe-Institut Tokyo
Time: 7:00 PM

Admission is free, but we kindly ask you to register in advance.
Come join us — bring your questions, ideas, and curiosity!
