THE TASKS
Accounts payable tasks:
- Allocation of invoices to the appropriate cost centers on our invoice processing software
- Ensuring financial compliance by checking invoices and supporting documents
- Ensuring that all transactions adhere fully to the internal procurement regulations
- Deduction of withholding taxes on eligible transactions
- Posting into the general ledger
- Fixed asset accounting as well as inventory management
- Monitoring and settlement of outstanding items in close coordination with all departments and the Head of Finance & Administration
Other financial & administrative tasks:
- Procurement coordination for the Finance & Administrative department
- Support with internal & external audits
- Providing support for monthly accounts closing activities as well as the preparation of both local and German annual financial statements
- Tasks exceptionally assigned by the Head of Finance & Administration, the Institute Director, or their representatives
PROFILES REQUIRED
University degree
Several years of relevant professional experience in financial and administrative tasks
Knowledge of financial accounting (SAP skills are an advantage)
Excellent IT skills, especially MS Office (particularly Excel)
Reliability, accuracy, and the ability to work independently
Experience in dealing and communicating with service providers and local authorities
Work experience in international companies or NGOs is an advantage
Good knowledge of German or willingness to learn German
