Workshop for young Nigerian classic guitarists.

The German, Romanian-born classic guitarist Mircea Gogoncea will hold a two- day master class for young emerging talents from Nigeria. It is part of his voluntary project to support Nigerian classic guitar players, who usually cannot play on proper classic guitars but modified western guitars.
Several months ago, Mircea Gogoncea together with the support of the Robert Schumann University Duesseldorf and the renowned Spanish luthier family Ramirez managed to bring the probably first classic guitar to Nigeria, which was presented to the highly-talented guitarist and teacher Taiwo Adegoke.  A second classic guitar will be presented during his stay in Lagos to the young guitarist Olushola Festus. This guitar could be purchased with the help of a young guitarist from India, who was impressed by this project

Mircea Gogoncea has already selected eight guitarists as active participants for the public master classes. However, musicians, who are interested in joining the master class as passive participants (maximum 30 pax) can contact the Goethe-Institut Nigeria to join. Deadline is April 13, 2018.
