Olga Grjasnova

(born: 14.11.1984 in Baku, Azerbaijan), Author

In 1996 Olga Grjasnowa's family immigrated to Germany. She studied Art History and Slavic Studies in Göttingen, and then moved to the German Institute for Literature in Leipzig. After various study trips abroad, she took a degree in Dance in Berlin. She attended the Klagenfurt literature course and the Jürgen Ponto writing workshop. She also received various scholarships. In 2012 her debut novel All Russians Love Birch Trees was published. The book made it to the longlist of the German Book Prize and won the Klaus Michael Kühne Prize and the Anna Seghers Prize, among others. Olga Grjasnowa lives in Berlin.
