The Exam sections

The Goethe-Test PRO: German for Professionals consists of the exam sections reading and listening. The exam is conducted uniformly worldwide. The results are evaluated automatically. The test takes about 60 to 90 minutes.

Reading and Listening

Total duration: 60 to 90 minutes

Reading: You will read various texts such as e-mails, comments or information on topics related to everyday (working) life. You can understand the main information and important details.

Listening: You will hear conversations and statements from everyday (working) life. You can understand main ideas and important details.

Requirements

The Goethe-Test PRO: German for Professionals is a German test for adults.
The Goethe-Institut exams are generally open to anyone and can be taken regardless of age or nationality.

  • The recommended age for the Goethe-Test PRO: German for Professionals is 16 years and above.

  • The Goethe-Test PRO: German for Professionals can be taken regardless of the level achieved. The adaptive test procedure means that the test is automatically adjusting to your language skills. There is no such thing as failing! You will receive a digital certificate showing the level you have achieved on the scale from A1 to C2 (CEFR) immediately after completing the test.
