Trial test

The trial test will give you an initial estimate of your knowledge of the German language. During the test, you will go through various tasks that are aimed at understanding the read text, grammar and vocabulary.

This test is not sufficient if you wish to sign up for a course at the Goethe-Institut. If you want to enrol in a course, please take the online placement test.

Online Placement Test

Are you taking a German course for the first time? In that case, you will have to take a placement test before enrolling. We will determine your language level, define learning goals together and choose a course that best suits you.

After submitting the online test, you will receive an email with further instructions.

Minimum age for the completion of the test: 16 years

Individual placement in the appropriate course level
Exact results, e.g. A1.2, B2.1
