Intercultural film workshop
The Filmworkshop "About the future - Zukunftsvisionen" will take place with students of the TaSUBa Institute of Arts and Culture. A special feature of the program in 2017 is the realization of two workshops - one in Berlin and one in Bagamoyo. The outcome of the filmworkshop in Berlin (End of June 2017) was the short film Umoja (Togetherness).
The aim of the program is to stimulate an exchange on positions of the global South and North about future vision as well as to connect students of the TaSUBa and German film students.The artists gain access to the cinematographic work and the cinematic narrative, in order to develop dialogical audiovisual works in collaborative film projects. Actors of the underrepresented East African cinema and documentary film are to be strengthened in the long term through a joint cooperation.
As a result of the one-week workshops, short films or small film sequences will be created, which are thematically oriented on the topic "Visions of the Future - Zukunftsvisionen".
The event series is a cooperation between the Bagamoyo Institute of Arts and Culture (TaSUBa), the Institute for Social and Cultural Anthropology of the Freie Universität Berlin, the filmArche e.V. Berlin and the Goethe Institute in Tanzania.
