Rahmencurriculum „Deutsch als Zweitsprache“ (Framework Curriculum for Integration Courses – German as a Second Language)

The Framework Curriculum for Integration Courses – German as a Second Language was commissioned by the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI) and developed by the Goethe-Institut. It was published in 2007. It defines a framework for the targets and content of the integration courses.

It shows the social contexts in which migrants would like to, or need to, be able to interact in the target language, and lists as many learning targets as possible, from which examining boards, textbook authors and course organisers can select targets and content for their respective purposes. It can be downloaded from the Goethe-Institut website.
