I’ve been leading MiA courses for almost a year! These are courses for women, and MiA stands for Migrant Women in Everyday Life. It’s about much more than just learning German. It’s about encouragement and self-confidence. It’s about stories and new beginnings. I want to give you an insight into the diverse experiences with MiA.

MiA courses (“Migrant Women Simply Strong in Everyday Life”) are a BAMF-funded program designed to empower women with a migration background through language learning and everyday integration. The courses aim to build German language skills, boost self-confidence, and provide knowledge about society, education, work, health, and daily life.
Specifically, Julia, a German as a Foreign Language (DaF) teacher, shares her practical experiences in and with the MiA courses: approaches and didactic concepts; the practical and everyday relevance of the content; relationship-building, language support, and motivation work; cultural diversity as a pedagogical resource; challenges in implementing the content; reciprocal learning and exchange processes; and both individual and shared experiences of success.
