Using the graphic novel Sophie Scholl as an example, Jennie Dahl demonstrates how language learning can be meaningfully connected with historical education, democratic values, and the development of civic courage.

In this hands-on workshop, she will share insights into her award-winning teaching project and present practical methods, materials, and writing activities that encourage students to reflect, discuss, and express themselves in the target language.
