This teaching material was created as part of the cooperation agreement between the Goethe-Institut and the Institute for Educational Policy and is suitable for lessons in "German for tourism" at vocational schools for economics and management. The aim is, on the one hand, bringing students closer to the German language on the basis of interesting topics and, on the other hand, expanding their communication skills required in their subject area. The material consists of the following three chapters:
Chapter 1: Hotel and Reception
Chapter 2: In the restaurant / in the cafe
Chapter 3: Services in the tourism sector
In order to be able to use the chapters in a goal-oriented manner, the learning goals to be achieved are listed at the beginning. In addition, the learners receive information about everyday life and habits of the Germans. The corresponding German phrases are available in separate tables.
German teachers are asked to adapt and supplement the recommended material in their lessons, taking into account the needs and interests of the students. In this way, the learners can participate creatively in the lessons and use the German language effectively with the help of exercises so that they can use the knowledge they have acquired in their future professional environment.
