Learners become ambassadors for biodiversity as they embark on research adventures in gardens, forests, and parks. They discover what permaculture is, explore the “superpowers” of local plants, and learn how biodiversity at school can be strengthened with simple, practical steps. To dive deeper into gardening and permaculture, learners take a virtual tour of the permaculture learning trail at the Goethe-Institut Nancy. Along the way, they encounter various learning stations designed to inspire them to recreate similar stations at their own school.
Each information board along the trail offers four levels of information, tailored to different learning groups:
- Illustrations for the youngest learners,
- single descriptive words and illustrated definitions for beginners,
- simple explanatory texts in easy language, and
- a detailed description using botanical and permaculture terminology for learners at the B2/C1 level.
With a range of worksheets—such as quizzes, word grids, and other tasks based on the content of the trail’s information boards—learners can build vocabulary, review what they’ve learned, and deepen their understanding of the topics.
The material package also includes three different games designed for image-supported vocabulary work—making learning both fun and engaging!
