Description

Fatih Akin's ensemble film tells the story of a series of people from Germany and Turkey who do not know each other, but whose lives fatefully cross paths. For example, there is Charlotte, in her late 20s, who falls in love with Ayten Öztürk, a political activist of the same age who is in Germany illegally.  The complexity of the narrative perspectives and the protagonists, who are searching for themselves and for a meaning in life, is what makes the film so fascinating. The viewer becomes aware
how, on the one hand, the life story is anchored in one's own origins and, on the other hand, is set in motion by the encounter with another person.
