Inquiry Overview:

This inquiry focuses on contemporary German economic policies and how they relate to basic economic concepts including opportunity costs and productions possibilities. Students will work towards answering the following compelling question: What tradeoffs do governments face when making sustainable environmental policy? After gaining background information on the relevant economic topics and current events, students will be assigned to represent a contemporary German stakeholder and write a white paper that addresses their position on Net Zero commitments. Students will present their white papers as their stakeholders in a simulation that decides whether to reaffierm Germany's commitment to a Net Zero economy or make tradeoffs.
