Rainer Hank was born in Stuttgart on 24 January 1953. He studied literature, philosophy and Catholic theology in Tübingen and Fribourg (Switzerland). He completed his doctorate in 1983 on the literature of Viennese modernism. He is a publicist and columnist for various media (newspapers, television, lectures, moderations), in particular for the FAS, where he regularly writes the column “Hanks Welt” (Hank's World).
