Simon Sahner
Simon Sahner, born in Heidelberg in 1989, is a freelance author, editor and translator. He studied German language and literature as well as history, earned his doctorate in modern German literary history and was a research assistant at the universities of Freiburg and Greifswald. Since 2018, he has been writing books, essays and reviews for newspapers, magazines and DLF Kultur. He is also co-editor of the online arts and culture magazine 54books. In 2023, his essay “Beim Lösen der Knoten – Nachdenken über Krebs” (Untangling the Knots – Reflections on Cancer) about narratives of illness was published. The following year, he published “Die Sprache des Kapitalismus” (The Language of Capitalism) together with Daniel Stähr. The book was awarded the Readers' Prize of the German Business Book Award 2024. Simon Sahner lives and works in Freiburg im Breisgau.
