“You can achieve anything by learning” – Natalja Schneidmiller from Kazakhstan has been working as an assistant to a general practitioner for 17 years now. She got off to rough start, but never gave up – and is now very good at her job!
 


Natalja Schneidmiller ...

...emigrated with her family from Kazakhstan to Berlin in 1994. A trained schoolteacher, she retrained here as a physician assistant, and has been working for a general practitioner in Berlin for 17 years now.
 

A physician assistant or doctor’s receptionist (in German: medizinische Fachangestellte, or MFA for short)...

... is trained to handle administrative, organizational and basic medical tasks at a doctor’s office, to assist physicians in their daily practice.
