The Goethe-Institut Singapore presented the third edition of the Science Film Festival in 2024. The festival took place from October 1 to December 20 in cooperation with the Science Centre Singapore, Anderson Primary School, and 90 schools all around Singapore. The selection jury chose 36 films targeting children from primary schools upwards for the program in Singapore. The Science Film Festival Singapore is made possible through the support of our regional partner for Southeast Asia, Rolls Royce.

The third edition of the Science Film Festival saw an increase in engagement through its online reach to schools across Singapore. This year’s opening ceremony was held in partership with a longtime partner of Goethe-Institut Singapore, Anderson Primary School. To encourage student engagement with the topic in a more meaningful way, Goethe-Institut Singapore collaborated with Anderson Primary School and various local organisations to present workshops and talks that responded to this year’s theme of Net Zero and the Circular Economy. Programmes like a plastic foraging workshop by Ayer Ayer, a shoe upcycling workshop by Commenhers, and an interactive talk on circular economies by Zerowaste SG, were conducted and very well-received by the students.
