The fifth edition of the Science Film Festival in Mali took place from December 1 to 20, 2024, at the Centre Culturel Germano-Malien (CCGM) in Bamako. Despite weather-related delays, a total of 250 students from various schools participated.
The festival featured scientific experiments and robotics workshops to inspire young people in science. Hands-on experiments introduced key physics and chemistry principles, while robotics workshops taught students how to build and program robots. Participating schools, including Groupe Scolaire Fatoumata Haïdara, Institut Diba, and Groupe Scolaire Sogoniko II, expressed strong interest in expanding the program. Future editions may include greater involvement from research institutions and science competitions.
Despite logistical challenges, the festival was a success. Robotics participants received certificates, and visibility was enhanced through social media and local outreach efforts.
