Togo

3rd Edition
The Science Film Festival Togo 2025 took place from 3 to 20 December and reached more than 1,000 participants over the festival period. Organized by the Goethe-Institut Togo, the edition expanded beyond its usual partnership by involving Togo’s largest public science high school with the authorization of the Ministry of Education, while also collaborating with the town hall of Aného, which provided venues for part of the program. Across academic, artistic, and technical formats, participants engaged with environmental challenges directly affecting Togo, including pollution, deforestation, healthy nutrition, and the threat to rare and protected animal species.

The program encouraged reflection on practical solutions and focused on identifying local needs for “Green Jobs” that can contribute to addressing these issues. To strengthen implementation and relevance, the Goethe-Institut Togo selected the environmental NGO Moi Jeu Tri through an open call to support the organization and facilitation of film screenings and workshops throughout the festival. Drawing on its experience, the NGO contributed an approach adapted to local realities, enabling a more diverse set of activities and meaningful engagement with different participant groups.
