The Science Film Festival India celebrated its 9th edition in 2025, organized by the Goethe-Institutes across the country and centered on the theme “Green Jobs”. Running from 1 October to 20 December, the festival was officially launched on 16 October with an opening program that combined film screenings and expert inputs, including "Curious Marina – The Scrap Check" and "Annabelle’s Aerodynamic Car", followed by presentations and interactive learning formats.
Highlights included a talk by environmental social scientist Dr. Ritwick Ghosh and a hands-on workshop led by the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW), inviting senior secondary students to explore how everyday professions can evolve into climate-positive careers. The program also featured a dedicated session on career opportunities and prospects in Germany by Dr. Paul Heeren, Project Manager for Skilled Workers at the Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan New Delhi, highlighting Germany as a global hub of innovation where green initiatives are embedded across industries.
Extending beyond schools into science museums and cultural spaces, the festival reached 19,731 viewers in total and continued to strengthen its role as a platform for engaging science education and future-oriented sustainability pathways aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
