In 2026, the Science Film Festival returns to Ethiopia and the horn with a selection of outstanding films from across the globe, presenting the important ethical, social, and environmental questions surrounding Artificial Intelligence.
The Goethe-InstitutEthiopia, in collaboration with Alliance Ethio-Française Dire Dawa, the Ethiopian Academy of Sciences (EAS), Kelem International School and their network of public, private, international, and PASCH schools will host the Science Film Festival 2026 in Ethiopia and South Sudan between October and mid-December 2026.
Thanks to strengthened cooperation with Alliance Ethio-Française Dire Dawa and the Goethe-Institut’s growing school and civil society networks, the festival shall continue its work across Ethiopian cities like, Dire Dawa, Gondar, and Debre Berhan, in Juba at the Juba Film Festival in South Sudan, and possibly in Eritrea and Djibouti.
