"Fertile Presence is a research and dance project culminating in a duet for black box theater in Cairo and Berlin for 2023-2024 by Shayma Shoukry (EG) and Moss Beynon Juckes (DE/UK) with scenography by Theresa Indermaur (CH)

How can we use the dancing body as a landscape to bring the ecological and migratory crises into the palms of our hands or out of the microbiome of our gut?

Inspired by ecological thought, postnatural studies and interspecies behavior we would like to inhabit ecological thinking as an embodied practice to deviate from current violent, humancentered, petroleum based behaviourisms that we recognise to be unsustainable and detrimental to other humans and other species.

…two mothers, choreographers and music makers, embrace precarity and question the idea of fertility, consistently mutating and deconstructing their surreal agrologistic surroundings, discovering how their bodies and sounds are inextricably entangled to their environment…
