In a collaborative process a trilingual play will be developed and performed with 5 actors and a chorus of 10 semi-professionals at the respective location. The project highlights the figure of the merchant, who circulates through all times and spaces and connects people and territories, as well as being a key figure for historical and modern slavery. Central working questions are: Which concrete challenges, narratives, traumas and memories are identified in the different cultural contexts of the participating artists? Which overlaps of territories do emerge? Which collective imaginaries and actions can be derived, articulated and addressed aesthetically and artistically to produce new, de-colonial formations? The process aims to create multidirectional narratives and ideally initiate material and immaterial changes in our societies.
