Borrowing books and media

Book of the week Nino Bulling, "abfackeln"

Nino Bulling, "abfackeln" (Edition Moderne, Zürich 2022)

The comic was part of Nino Bulling's contribution to documenta fifteen.

Everything is actually okay. Ingken is with Lily, who seems to be at peace with herself and her life. Ingken, on the other hand, is struggling, especially with hirself. Against the backdrop of global climate change, Ingken is searching for a self-determined identity, a new name, for the things that are allowed to stay and those that should disappear. What defines a person? Does everything have to be burned down in order to create new definitions? Or is it possible to hold on to something?

"Nino Bulling deals with Ingken's unease in a nuanced and tender way, without glossing over the fact that the world is burning and without taking away our hope that a better life is possible."
