Irina Korschunow

Irina Korschunow was born in Stendahl, Germany, in 1925 and grew up there. Between 1949 and 1954 she studied German, English and sociology in Göttingen and Munich. She began working as a journalist, columnist and author in the 1950s. She writes for children, teens and adults. Her breakthrough as a writer came with the publication of her children's book "Die Wawuschels mit den grünen Haaren" in 1967.
Her more than 40 published works include picture books as well as books for children and teens. They have won many awards and have been translated around the world.
Today Irina Koruschnow lives near Munich.
