Requirements

The Goethe-Institut examinations are available to all interested parties and can be taken regardless of your age or nationality.

The Goethe-Zertifikat C2: Großes Deutsches Sprachdiplom is recommended for individuals 18 and up.

The Goethe-Zertifikat C2: Großes Deutsches Sprachdiplom requires extremely advanced language skills and documents the sixth and highest level – C2 – on the six-level competency scale described in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Teaching Units

In order to reach this level of competency, - depending on previous knowledge and learning requirements, you typically need at least 1000 teaching units at 45 minutes/unit.

Preparation

If you think that you meet the language requirements, then you can enrol for an exam at any time. We recommend that you participate in one of our preparatory courses, however. During these courses, you will be taught language and examination-specific skills that will make it as easy as possible for you to pass the exam.
