«En(s)emblées-En(s)ambles » by Arsène Etaba

Born in 1999 in Sa’a in Cameroon’s Centre Region, Arsène Etaba lives in Douala, where he dedicates his time to his passion for dance and his studies. Arsène is a Doctor of Pharmacy, majoring in Biology and Clinical Research. He took his first steps into the world of dance in 2015. He practices several dance styles deriving both from Cameroon’s rich heritage and from recent external influences (afrohouse, afrojiz, afropop, creative dances, etc.)

A former member the University of Douala’s dance club, he participated in several university contests and national and international festivals before founding The Performers, a dance company, in 2017. As a winner of Goethe-Découverte 2022 in the “Dance” category, he will be putting on his piece, “En(s)emblées-en(s)ambles”, in which he advocates a fairer world with less domination of all kinds.

The “Goethe-Découverte” platform is a dedicated space for artists to express themselves. Its aims to support young talent in Cameroon, facilitate dialogue between art professionals and cultural journalists and, above all, arouse the interest of producers and publicists in the young talents selected.
