It's 1989. Adam and his girlfriend Evelyn live a quiet and save life in the GDR until Adam's hand slightly misses a woman's waist, which Evelyn secretly observes. In addition, the East Germany (GDR) is on the verge of its decline.
For Evelyn the two events offer the opportunity to get into the BMW of a westerner in a snap and escape towards Balaton. Adam reluctantly leaves his rural comfort zone to regain her love.
This is the starting shot for a road movie that leads to tricky border controls, lost passports, love throws, a triangular relationship and an escape to Austria.
