Celebrating Europe Day: Goethe-Institut Georgien as One of Georgia’s Leading Cultural Institution
In 2025, the Goethe-Institut Georgien organised a series of activities as part of three Europe Day events.
As part of the Europe Day celebrations in Tbilisi, Batumi and Kutaisi, the Goethe-Institut Georgien presented a vibrant cultural programme that highlighted creativity, collaboration, and European values.On 9 May in Tbilisi, visitors enjoyed a wide range of engaging activities organised by the Goethe-Institut Georgien, including an interactive quiz, a ceramic workshop, a live musical performance, a curated film screening, and an immersive art book installation. The program also featured inspiring public talks by creatives involved in EU-funded projects such as Creative Compass Georgia.
On 21 June in Batumi, attendees explored their creativity through a ship modeling workshop, an exhibition, and a live music workshop - all showcasing the innovative spirit of Creative Compass Georgia and its supported initiatives.

You Make the Music: Music from the Workshop
This music was created by the audience attending the Europe Day event in Batumi. The live workshop was led by one of the Creative Connections 2024 beneficiaries, young Georgian musician Saba Aznarashvili.
On October 24–25, the Goethe-Institut Georgien participated in Kutaisi Europe Day with a diverse programme, organised in partnership with Leni Academy and Reflector Club. Visitors enjoyed an engaging mix of music workshops, live sets, film screenings, and a panel discussion - each led by creative professionals who cooperated with EU-funded projects like Creative Compass Georgia before. The events created a dynamic platform for dialogue and artistic exchange and thereby, enriched the city’s cultural life.
Representing the culture sector, the Goethe-Institut Georgien stood out as one of Georgia’s leading cultural institutions, emphasising its commitment to artistic exchange and strengthening cultural ties between Georgia and Europe.
Europe Day celebrations attracted an impressive number of attendees - over 18,000 in Tbilisi, 7,000 in Batumi, and 5,000 in Kutaisi.
