General Terms and Conditions for Examinations
Information regarding the minimum age for taking an exam can be found in the Goethe-Institut's Examination Regulations.
Candidates have the right to withdraw from or leave the exam. In such cases, as well as in the case of exclusion from the exam (see §12 of the Examination Regulations), the fee will not be refunded, and the exam will be considered failed.
Bringing and using mobile phones, cameras, microphones, and similar devices during the exam is prohibited. If a candidate brings a mobile phone into the examination room despite the ban, they will be excluded from the exam.
The exam can be individually arranged for candidates with specific needs upon submission of a written declaration. For detailed information, please contact: pruefungen-tbilissi@goethe.de
If an exam certificate is lost, a replacement certificate can be issued within 10 years of the exam date for a fee of 50.00 Lari.
From 2025 onwards, the Goethe-Institut will issue digital certificates for all exams. The digital certificate replaces the paper-based certificate. These certificates are generated electronically and are valid without a signature. After successfully passing the exam, candidates can independently download, save (in PDF format), and print the certificate via their Onlinekurse.goethe.de account.
Paper-based certificates will continue to be issued for youth exams.
The Goethe-Institut Georgia collects, processes, and uses the personal data of exam candidates for the purpose of fulfilling the contract concluded with the candidates, as well as within the framework of legal permissions and the data protection consent given to the Goethe-Institut Georgia.
Exam registration is carried out online within set timeframes. Admission to the exam depends on the availability of places and is ultimately determined by the Goethe-Institut. There is no legal entitlement to participate in the exam.
Repeating the exam or individual modules is only possible after a waiting period of 4 weeks.
The fees and discounts valid at the time of registration apply.
The exam fee must be paid exclusively by credit card on the website during the registration period.
The possibility of rescheduling an exam is determined by the Goethe-Institut and costs 50.00 Lari.
If a candidate cannot attend the exam due to health reasons, a medical certificate (Form 100) must be submitted within three calendar days. In such cases, an administrative fee of 50.00 Lari will be retained, and the remaining amount will be refunded within 30 calendar days.
Withdrawal from the exam must be made in writing by email and is only possible up to the last day of the registration period. Minor participants require written consent from a parent or legal guardian. The refund of the exam fee is only possible until the end of the registration period, with an administrative fee of 50.00 Lari retained. No refund will be made after this deadline. If the Goethe-Institut cancels the exam itself, the full exam fee will be refunded.
Candidates must check the four data points listed on the booking confirmation—first name, last name, date of birth, and place of birth—prior to the exam and report any errors immediately in writing by email to pruefungen-tbilissi@goethe.de. Any subsequent correction of an already generated certificate will incur a fee of 50.00 Lari.
Exam results will be available in the candidate’s personal Onlinekurse.goethe.de account within 15 working days after the exam. The exact date will be communicated to the candidate a few days in advance via an information email.
The Goethe-Institut is not liable for failure to fulfill contractual obligations due to force majeure (e.g., natural disasters, fire, flooding, war, strike, official orders, or other unforeseeable events).
Tbilisi is the agreed place of jurisdiction.
Should any parts or individual formulations of these terms and conditions be invalid, the remaining parts remain unaffected in their content and validity. The invalid provision is to be replaced by a legally permissible provision that comes closest in content and economic effect to the invalid one
In the event of discrepancies between the German and Georgian versions of these examination regulations, the German version shall prevail. The version published on the Goethe-Institut's website is the one currently in effect.
The Goethe-Institut Georgia reserves the right to amend the examination terms and conditions!
