Are you studying at a university and would like to gain experience in an international work environment? Apply for an internship at the Goethe-Institut Jordan!
The Programme department of the Goethe-Institut Jordan supports exchange and collaboration between cultural professionals and cultural organisations in Jordan, Yemen, and Germany. In addition to presenting German and European culture, this includes promoting cultural cooperation and supporting local cultural scenes and civil society.
We work in various fields and art forms, including literature, visual arts, film and media, music, dance and theatre, design, and the creative industries.
The next planned internship start date is January 15, 2026.
In our cultural program, we offer interns the opportunity to:
- To gain insight into the planning and implementation of local and global cultural collaborations
- To assist in the conception, preparation, organization, and execution of cultural programs and events
- To contribute to the communication and public relations efforts of the cultural department's programmes, with a focus on website management and the creation of social media content
- To acquire hard skills, such as working with content management software (CMS), planning tools, etc.
- To acquire soft skills, such as networking and communication skills
- To collaborate with partners and external service providers
- To provide support with administrative tasks
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICANTS:
- Enrolment in a university degree program in a related field
- Willingness to complete a full-time or part-time internship in Amman
- A strong interest in culture and international cooperation
- Interest in the content development of cultural programs
- Interest in the administrative, organizational, and production-related aspects of cultural work
- Empathy for cultural sensitivities
- Professionalism and a willingness to learn
- Willingness to actively contribute ideas and perspectives
- Ability to work independently and proactively
Vacancies, duration and dates:
- Duration: 4 – 6 months
- Next planned start date: 15.01.2026 (later start possible upon consultation)
Compensation:
For internships with a minimum duration of 4 weeks, a compensation of €450 gross per full calendar month is paid. For months not completed in full, the amount is calculated proportionally.
Arrival and Accommodation
- Arrival: The Goethe-Institut Jordan is located in Jabal Amman. Details can be found on our directions page.
- Finding accommodation: The Goethe-Institut Jordan does not cover accommodational costs that are not covered by the paid compensation. Interns are responsible for finding their own accommodation. However, we are happy to provide information and helpful addresses that may assist in your search for an apartment or room.
INTERNSHIP CONFIRMATION AND REPORT:
At the end of your internship, you will write a report that serves as the basis for your internship confirmation.
An evaluation of your work is not usually provided, but can be prepared upon request. Please coordinate this with your internship supervisor in advance. Please note that there is no legal entitlement to an evaluation letter.

- The letter should be no more than one A4 page, it should provide a personal impression of your performance and briefly explain that the internship is part of your studies and why you are suitable for an internship abroad.

- Optional: transcripts/certificates
