Robot Programming with Python
Robotic Course|No prior programming experience required!
- Language English
- Price NAD 800
In this course, participants will program LEGO robots using Python, a highly versatile programming language applied to solve both small and complex tasks across many fields. After learning the basics of Python, participants will first gain their robot driver’s license by programming the robot to navigate on a predefined path through an obstacle course and to repeat a set of instructions several times. Next, they will explore how the robot interacts with its environment using sensors, programming it to stop after bumping into an obstacle, avoid obstacles or follow a black line on a white surface. Finally, they will get a chance to apply their newly gained skills to a problem of their choice thereby improving their problem-solving and computational thinking skills.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptop and will be guided through the implementation of required programs. A limited number of computers will be available to those who cannot bring their own laptop. Many activities will be done in small groups, encouraging teamwork and collaboration.
Upon completion of this course, participants will have a basic understanding of robotics and how robots make decisions to solve a given task. In addition, they will have practiced teamwork, problem solving, critical thinking, and verbal presentation, all of which are essential 21st century skills.
