THEME: Poetry is Alive – for Art Is
The Bi-monthly Poetry Project is back and Township Productions in cooperation with Goethe-Institut Namibia will be hosting the 4st Poetry Session on the 10th August 2023. Earlier this year the Poetry Sessions were successfully staged with record attendance and a larger presentation from poets who shared their work for the first time. The Poetry Sessions continue to attract a broader audience and allow for diverse presentation and performance styles.
The theme for the 4th Poetry Session is “Poetry is Alive – for Art Is”. This Poetry Session will be celebrating poetry in Namibia but more look at the role and purpose of the Poet. The Poets will have to redefine himself and his art and pledge to continue writing, reading and sharing their works. Despite the social and political dangers and condemnation around them; Poetry is Alive – for Art Is and can be used in the transformation of a passive community into a more action oriented one.
Like all previous sessions, the 4th Poetry Session will be free of charge and is scheduled to start at 19h00 on the 10th August 2023 at the Goethe-Institut Namibia. Bring yourself, your friends and foes to celebrate the pledges of poets.
