The library is open to the general public. Reference use of the library and information centre is free of charge. To borrow books and other materials, you need a valid library card.

Monday - Friday: 9.00 a.m. - 4.00 p.m.

Library card
To obtain one, simply fill out a membership application form and return it with the following:

  • Valid identification (International passport, Personal ID card, student or school ID card
  • 1 passport picture
  • personal e-mail address
Library cards are available for the following fees:
Adults and students: 2.000 Naira per year
Students of Goethe-Institut: Free

Loan periods:
Books and audiobooks: 4 weeks
DVD's: 2 weeks
Magazines: 4 weeks

The loan period may be extended, provided that other library users have not reserved the materials.

Multimedia center

Six Multimedia PCs are set up in the information centre for access to information on topics related to Germany on the internet as well as for searching CD-ROM databases.Library members may use the internet facilities free of charge.

The information centre also provides printing services at a fee.

PC self-study exercises

The information centre has computers with self-study exercises for language students at different levels. This facility enables the language students to improve their German grammar, vocabulary, reading and writing skills as well as prepare for examinations like Zertifikat Deutsch (ZD) at the Goethe-Institut.
