How does the German Online Individual course work?

You start with the Goethe-Institut placement test and receive feedback from us on your current language level with a recommendation for the appropriate course level.
 
Your online course is divided into different chapters dedicated to everyday topics, for example at language level A1 "Getting around town" or "Everyday contacts". In each chapter you will get to know typical conversation situations, receive interesting information and texts, and practise the appropriate vocabulary and helpful grammar structures. You learn and practise with different formats such as reading texts, matching exercises, short films, writing tasks and much more. This not only brings variety and fun, but also quick learning success.
 
For communication and speech training, you meet with your online teacher in two live online sessions per course at individually agreed dates. You practise speaking freely in German and train your feeling for the language.
 
Your online teacher will support you during the learning process by e-mail. The support includes corrections and feedback on your written and oral contributions and, of course, answering your questions about the learning content. In this way, you are optimally supported in your self-learning!

    Learn independently with everyday and varied learning materials on our learning platform. You can flexibly arrange the online tasks and receive automated feedback.

  • Live sessions

    In the two virtual live sessions you learn with your teacher. We use the conference tool ZOOM, with which you learn online just like in a face-to-face course. You train your speaking and receive individual feedback from your teacher.

    During the course, the online teacher will give you regular, individual feedback on speaking and writing exercises. If you have any questions, you can contact our language course office at any time.

The number of lessons that are usually required to reach a certain level and take the corresponding Goethe certificate are based on experience. Individual aspects such as language learning experience and native language also play an important role. We will grade you before the start of the course in order to ensure optimal learning success.
