The application deadline for all of our scholarships is Monday 15 December 2025.
Our different scholarships have different application tasks. For each one, you need to complete two to three tasks that show us your enthusiasm for the German language and culture.
You would like to apply for the Theatre Days and the PASCH Jugendkurs and/or the IDO? Then please complete all tasks so that we can get a full picture of your motivation and interests.
APPLICATION TASKS FOR THE THEATRE WORKSHOP
TASK 1: Your motivation
Why do you want to take part in the German Theatre Workshop? What interests you about theatre and performance? How could this experience support your German learning? Tell us in a short English or German motivation letter.
Please note: You are welcome to use digital tools such as AI to help with brainstorming or structuring your ideas – but the writing itself should be your own. We want to hear your personal voice.
TASK 2: Kiwi meets German
Create a short video in German (60-90 seconds) showing a moment of intercultural difference between German and Kiwi life. It can be funny, reflective, or creative — your choice!
o Film on your phone — no fancy setup needed
o Try to use German where possible/ as much as possible
o Be creative, expressive, and authentic
o Name your file: FirstnameLastnameTheatreVideo.mp4
o Upload the video to a cloud service (e.g. Google Drive) and add a link to the video in the application form.
TASK 3: Teacher Endorsment (deadline 31 January 26)
Ask your German teacher to provide a short statement (2–3 sentences) confirming your enthusiasm, reliability, and suitability.
APPLICATION TASKS FOR THE IDO AND/OR PASCH-JUGENDKURS
TASK 1: Show us who you are
Submit a short video (max. 90 seconds) in which you introduce yourself in German.
o Film on your phone — no fancy setup needed
o Try to use German where possible/ as much as possible
o Name your file: FirstnameLastnameIntroductionVideo.mp4
o Upload the video to a cloud service (e.g. Google Drive) and add a link to the video in the application form.
TASK 2: Your motivation
Why do you want to take part in the PASCH Jugendkurs or the IDO? Tell us in a short English motivation letter about your goals, expectations and personal motivation.
Please note: You are welcome to use digital tools such as AI to help with brainstorming or structuring your ideas – but the writing itself should be your own. We want to hear your personal voice.
Important note about submitting your tasks: Please link your completed tasks in the application form below. Make sure that yona.brand@goethe.de and beate.weinhardt@auckland.ac.nz have access to the files or links you submit, so we can view your materials.
