Terms and Conditions

Eligibility

The contest is open to Goethe-Institut Philippinen students who are enrolled in a Classroom Course from October 23, 2023 to December 15, 2023 with no limitation in age.

 
Requirements

  1. Singing talent ( Christmas songs in English or German)
  2. One act should not last for more than five (5) minutes. Recommended length per act is (3) minutes.
  3. Costumes must be appropriate for all age groups.
  4. Acts are responsible for their own props and costumes.
  5. If your act requires recorded accompanying music, the music must be submitted to the language course office on or before December 01, 2023, 3pm. The file must be in mp4 format with your name as the file name.
  6. Only the first 8 applicants to sign-up at the language course office with their accompanying music will be accepted.


Criteria for Judging

Judging is based on the following criteria:
  • • Technical Ability (20 %)
Includes voice quality, pitch, projection, danceability and skill, and the use of instruments or props. If the act appears to be difficult but the performer is well prepared, they would receive higher points.
  • • Stage Appearance and Personality (25%)
A performer that receives a high rating in Stage Appearance and Personality is in character. They exude confidence, and personality and put heart and character into their performance.
  • • Creativity/Originality/Entertainment Value (20%)
Creating a piece of work that is distinctive or different from the other performers. It takes creativity, ingenuity,confidence, and personality to present an original piece.
  • • Overall Performance (30 %)
Performer’s ability to present material that draws a positive response from the audience with personality, originality,and poise.
  • ·Audience Impact (5%)

NOTE: The Judges' Decision is Final and Irrevocable


Prizes

There will be one (1) grand prize winner chosen by our Head of Language Department.
 
Grand prize: FREE Language Course (one level only; either A1, A2, or B1).

All the other participants will have a consolation prize of one (1) Goethe-Institut Loot Bag each.


Claiming of Prizes

 

The winner will be announced after all the participants have performed. He/She should then be able to present a valid ID right after the announcement.

The consolation prizes will be given out to the other participants immediately. The 1st prize winner will furthermore need to submit a copy of their valid government ID within five (5) working days after the event on December 05, 2023 and can then claim their prize anytime starting on December 05, 2023.


FORFEITURE

Failure to present a valid ID as proof of identification will result in forfeiture. In case of such, the organizers will randomly select another person as the winner. 

The organizers reserve the right to ask the claimant for further proof of identification if deemed necessary.


TECHNICALITIES FOR THE 1ST PRIZE

The prizes must be taken as stated and no compensation will be payable if the winners are unable to use the prizes. The prizes are not exchangeable, non-transferrable and are not redeemable for cash or other goods or services. Any unused portions of any of the prizes will be forfeited. 

In case the winner hasn’t redeemed the prize by December 15, 2023, the prize will be considered null and void.
