Living Culture

We foster bilateral cultural exchange programs between Germany and the Philippines. We initiate film series, exhibitions, concerts, seminars and festivals, always with the goal to facilitate artistic production, reception and reflection involving actors from both countries.

The annual festival for current German cinema returns fully offline for the first time after the pandemic! A variety of thought-provoking visions from current German film directors awaits you this October 19 to 22, 2023 at the Gateway Cineplex 10.

Philippines
Science Film Festival

The Science Film Festival is a celebration of science communication in Southeast Asia, South Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America: In cooperation with local partners it promotes science literacy and facilitates awareness of contemporary scientific, technological and environmental issues through international films with accompanying educational activities.

Snare for Birds

Snare for Birds is the collaborative research art project of Kiri Dalena, Lizza May David, and Jaclyn Reyes, curated by Marika Constantino and Iris Ferrer. It inquires into the tangents of the country’s colonial past, archiving and its impacts on being Filipina.

Listening to the World – 100 Years of Radio

This 2023, radio in Germany turns 100 years old. To mark this anniversary, the project "Listening to the World - 100 Years of Radio" has been launched as a cooperation between the "Experimental Radio" at the Bauhaus University Weimar, the Goethe-Institut, Deutschlandfunk Kultur and the House of World Cultures.
