A four-day acting workshop on the Michael Chekhov Acting Technique (Module 1: Living Images – Making Contact) led by Ulrich Meyer-Horsch, organised by the Michael Chekhov Europe and Act-Things Studio

In order to make the work on stage authentic and alive, ones would want to get into contact with both their inner images and emotions within seconds.
How does one create and embody images? How does one feed the emotional life of the character?

Module 1: "Living Images – Making Contact" is a four-day acting workshop led by Ulrich Meyer-Horsch, Master Teacher from Schule für Schauspiel Hamburg, Germany. It invites you to explore Michael Chekhov’s acting technique throughout the process.

This workshop is open to actors, directors, acting teachers, theatre students, and anyone interested in actor training. The programme will be conducted in English with Thai interpretation provided during the sessions.

About Ulrich Meyer-Horsch

Ulrich Meyer-Horsch is an award-winning actor, theatre director, and master teacher with over 30 years of professional experience in German state and regional theaters (such as Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg, Schauspiel Frankfurt, and Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin). He has collaborated with renowned theatre practitioners including Simon McBurney & Complicité, Augusto Boal, and Yoshi Oida, and served for many years as the associate artistic director of Kreuzgangspiele Feuchtwangen.

Education & Training: He holds degrees in Acting, Theater Pedagogy, Theology, and Philosophy from universities in Heidelberg, Hamburg, and London (King's College). He studied directly under Michael Chekhov’s former students—Hurd Hatfield, Deidre Hurst du Prey, Mala Powers, and Joanna Merlin—as well as master teachers from Germany and Russia.

Teaching & Methodology: His approach incorporates organic breathing, playfulness of games, and mask work. He published his book "Michael Tschechow: Der Schauspieler ist das Theater" in 2022. Since 1994, he has taught and directed internationally across Europe, the Americas, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
